  1. A note from a user of the Database utility:

  3. This program grew out of a late night phone conversation between Roger and
  4. Myself. I wondered if having some sort of function that would allow you to
  5. compile a list of files in your bbs filelist, and then when you recieve a
  6. Frequest search that list, instead of thrashing your HD would be better and
  7. faster. Well, Roger, being the sort of guy that when he goes to the
  8. bathroom, pisses in ARexx, was back at me in 30 minutes with the DATABASE
  9. concept. The best way to use this is to enable the DATABASE keyword in
  10. QSilver.CFG, so Qsilver knows to search the database instead of the whole
  11. HD, and have the DATABASE program run once a day off of a scheduler or cron
  12. event.

  21. I will say this: since I started using the database functions, especially
  22. when I was NC2606 and recieved lots of freqs, I recieved many comments
  23. about the rapid speed of frequing off of my system. It works very well for
  24. me. I feel it will work as well for you, especially if you have a large
  25. file area. Both you and your HD will love this feature.
